Affirmations for a Fresh Start This Spring

Spring Affirmations for a Fresh Start

Springtime is a great time to recite affirmations, as it may help us feel less stressed, improve our perspective, and increase self-confidence and overall quality of daily living. Read reasons why this happens at "The Benefits of Positive Affirmations."

Look Below for a List of Positive
Affirmations to Recite Silently or Say
Aloud

Say Yes to Affirmations This Spring

I have decluttered my living and work environments, as organized, neat surroundings encourage mental clarity and provide space for a fresh start.

I return again and again to nature and the great outdoors, and am in awe of nature's power, beauty, and ability to heal. Being in natural surroundings renews my energy, and helps me learn, grow, and blossom.

Movement and exercise enhance my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Joyful Woman in the Spring

I focus on the here and now and relish each mindful moment.

I appreciate warmer weather and calming energy from blue skies and spring rain. I am joyful in the midst of sprouting flowers and spring greenery.

I am grateful for this season of growth, renewal, and rebirth, and I thrive.

I lighten up on food and beverage choices to do a gentle spring detox, and select in-season locally grown produce, whole food plant-based (WFPB) items, and when available, organic foods and drinks.

Every day, and in every way, I feel safe and able to adapt to ever-changing life. I relax and experience new situations, people, and places with pleasure and self-assurance.

I pace myself, and remember to vary my activities to include breaks from work and down time that nurtures my spirit.

I give myself permission to be who I am. I show up for life authentically.

I look inward for validation and wisdom. My higher self knows what’s in my best interest, and I trust my intuition to guide me along.

My path is unique and so is my pace. I trust my journey.

I get and give support and encouragement from those who are willing and able to freely give and receive it. I am blessed that I attract people who cherish and respect me and vice versa. 💗

An affirmation practice is most successful when it's consistent. That's why I suggest you carve out some reflective time each day to connect with mind, body, and spirit and recite those affirmations that resonate with you.

5 Easy and Effective Ways to Practice Gratitude

5 Easy and Effective Ways to Practice Gratitude
Grateful for Love in My Life

The Oxford Dictionary defines gratitude as the quality of being thankful, and readiness to show appreciation for and return kindness.

Post Updated 5/28/2025

This post will show you 5 easy and effective ways to practice gratitude, and illustrates  "Top Reasons to Practice Gratitude with Tips to Help You Do It."

5 Easy and Effective Ways to Practice Gratitude

 1. Observe and Revise Words you Use to Communicate. Grateful people have a positive communication style. They freely express ideas and feelings to convey awareness of life’s gifts, givers, blessings, good fortune, abundance, and verbalize their thankfulness often.

2. Grateful people acknowledge inherently good things others have done on their behalf. Feeling grateful and accepting and appreciating help from others creates a more relaxed body state and allows the subsequent benefits of lowered stress to wash over them.

Tip: Check in with your mind and body at least once a day to gauge whether practicing gratitude increases your sense of well-being.

3. Grateful people act accordingly. When people follow through on grateful motions including smiling, saying thank you, and writing letters of gratitude or “going through grateful motions,” parts of their minds and bodies get conditioned to feel gratitude more often.

4. Grateful people live and delight in the current moment. When people savor the present moment and witness what it holds, they are less likely to project into the unknown (future) or dwell on the past.

5. Grateful people are those who find value in each experience, person, or thing (not take anyone or anything for granted).

Finding a lesson or blessing in everything that happens, is a step in the right direction to feeling grateful and satisfied with daily living.

The regions of the brain associated with gratitude, are those parts of the neural network that lights up when people socialize and experience pleasure. These regions are also heavily connected to the parts of the brain that control basic emotion regulation, such as heart rate and arousal levels.

One of my most treasured life goals is to have relationships that bring out the best in us. I seek friendships with people who are kind and respectful people. I have learned to practice healthy behaviors that are relaxed, encourage personal growth, and stimulates a sense of gratitude and joy.

What steps have you taken or want to take to live a more grateful life? Please share a comment or observation in the section below.

Have you made strides in improving your self-care practices and/or do you need motivation, encouragement, or support in this area? Please share that too.

I read and appreciate every comment, but please don't put links in your comment. I won't be able to publish it that way.

Use Color Ideas to Cultivate Happiness

Color Tips that Cultivate Happiness

Research shows when we see certain colors, our brains release feel-good chemicals that impact us on a physical and emotional level. A study published in the October 2019 issue of  Journal of Environmental Psychology indicates YELLOW is usually the color of happy, joyful emotions.

Happiness improves our sense of well-being. However, the study also revealed not all people associate yellow with good vibes.

Those who live close to the equator and in climates with a scarcity of rain, find yellow less attractive than people who live in cooler, rainier climes.

To illustrate, look at the color wheel below. It is a visual representation of the broad range of hues in the visible light spectrum.

RED, ORANGE, and YELLOW are three colors that appear next to each other on the color wheel. For additional details about the origin of the color wheel and its creator, Sir Isaac Newton, look here.

Colors 4 Health and Happiness

Warm colors often evoke feelings of happiness, optimism, and energy. Warm hues make rooms and objects appear smaller, because they make them look closer and create a cozy feel.

Warm hued paint colors, carpeting, or furniture makes spaces look more intimate. A word of caution. A big concentration of warm color can be overwhelming, and may even stimulate aggressive emotions. To offset this, pair warm tones with neutral ones.

ORANGE is a bright warm-toned color. It's the color of many healthful, tasty fruits and vegetable.

Orange energy supplies a dose of emotional support. Its power helps us feel creative, enthusiastic, and perky.

RED is an energizing warm-hued color. It speeds up metabolism and inspires excitement, passion, and love. Red reminds us of heart health. For heart disease prevention tips see this.

PINK is next to red on the warm hued area of the color wheel. It evokes feelings of gratitude and admiration. The color pink carries with it the meaning of elegance and grace. It reminds us of sweetness and tender loving care.

Dark pink is the variation of pink that is often used as a symbol of gratitude and appreciation, and is a color I love to wear.

Another factor that influences our color preferences is unique to each individual. Colors work at the cellular level and bypass thinking. Color likes and dislikes are subjective, and often are affected by our life experiences, mindset, and feelings.

When we interact with someone (a loved one or even stranger) or participate in something that is meaningful to us, we are likely to remember and associate it with the colors we saw.

Colors can make our surroundings, peoples' body language, and sounds, smells, textures, and moments vivid, and our memory of them long lasting.

A quote that appears on the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health (NIH) Website follows.

"Colour is believed to be the most important visual experience to human beings (). It functions as a powerful information channel to the human cognitive system and has been found to play a significant role in enhancing memory performance ()."

How many of the warm hued colors mentioned above bring you pleasure?

When I wear bright pink I feel optimistic and lovable. Red reminds me of romance and I associate it with the sweet aroma of fresh roses just picked from my garden. Orange lifts my spirit as I envision a gorgeous southwestern sunrise or sunset. Yellow makes me think of fun times and sunflowers and popcorn.

Cool colors are often more subdued than warm ones. Cool colors recede and appear to be farther away from the observer than warm ones. Cool colors include green, blue, and purple, and variations of those three colors.

BLUE is a favorite color for a large segment of the world population, and is slightly more popular with men than women. Blue is the only primary color within the cool spectrum.

Blue is a great stress buster, and letting go of tension helps us feel happier.

GREEN is a cool-hued color that helps us establish a pathway for renewal, expansion, and flexibility. It promotes growth, balance, good health, and abundance.

For colorful ideas about ways to enhance your lifestyle with green see this. Some shades of green take on elements of yellow, and uplift our spirit.

PURPLE possesses some of the attributes of red, so it's a less subdued cool color than the others.

Wear a light shade of purple (lavender) to calm hyperactivity.

Connect with Crown Chakra Energy and its corresponding color of purple to Integrate Mind, Body, and Spirit and feel centered and peaceful.

Warm and cool toned colors can help us feel greater happiness. Let's cultivate those that appeal to us.

There are so many ways to use colors to attract goodness into our lives. Decorate, don, and envision colors. To spice up our day, let's visualize happy kids in colorful hues dancing (see first illustration above).

Cultivate colors to feel content, nurtured, and increase happiness!

Before you go, don't forget to comment below.

Which colors help you feel happy? Please explain.

If you like what you see, please share the love on social media. When you do, please put a link back to this post.
