Feng Shui Tips to Refresh Home’s Chi

Tips for a sweet home at Colors 4 Health

Why do people the world over use Feng Shui techniques to attract peace, joy, and balance into their homes and lives?

Feng Shui is the
ancient Chinese art of placement and decorating. It has many simple-to-learn concepts that can help us today to align health, hearth, and heart in harmony with our desired lifestyle.

Read this post to see which Feng Shui tips resonate with you, and practice using them to cleanse, declutter, refresh, and correct imbalances in surroundings and life.

Then find ways to tune into life force energy (chi, qi, or prana) and apply it to Feng Shui principles to gain a greater sense of well-being.

When chi flows freely through our bodies, minds, and spirits, this energy creates feel-good vibes and helps us thrive by merging the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual realms.

Free-flowing chi provides inspiration for  abundance manifestation, and makes space for insights that improve relationships with ourselves, our surroundings, our family, and others.

Happy Family and Feng Shui Tips

An important point to remember when implementing Feng Shui ideas is to proceed at your own pace.

Some people need to block off a chunk of time and schedule a Feng Shui activity in a planner. They try to accomplish one Feng Shui project at a time.

Others prefer to work full speed ahead, until one room or the whole house is cleansed and refreshed.

Others work best spontaneously, and grab a few spare minutes to seize the moment.

Look Below for Feng Shui Tips to Refresh Home's Chi

Tip# 1

Keep entryway attractive, welcoming, clutter free, and chi-friendly.

A clean front door and open space at the main entrance helps usher in improved wellness, career satisfaction, personal progress, and loving, restorative energy into homes.

Dust the front and back of the front door, as well as the hinges, knobs, and frame. Remove leaves, twigs, and particles that have accumulated on the front door mat, walkways, or behind front porch plants, wreaths, etc.

If your house or apartment number isn’t visible from the street or hallway, guests and delivery people may find it hard to locate you.

Likewise if overgrown plants, shrubs, benches, display items, or furniture crowds the main entry to your dwelling, it puts obstacles in the path of new opportunities from entering as well.

Check outdoor lighting and replace lightbulbs if necessary. Bright lighting elements illuminate the path and neutralizes stuck or stale energy.

Once inside, make sure windows and glass doors are clean and in good working order. This allows natural light to shine in.

Open windows or door for at least 20-30 minutes a day to take advantage of the healing power of fresh air and natural light.

Tip# 3

Declutter countertops and other flat surfaces morning and night. Read, file, and/or shred mail each day.

Cancel as many paper statements, circulars, newsletters, and the like that you can. Sign up for paperless billing, if you haven't done so already.

Don't leave dirty dishes in kitchen sink, on countertops, or in other rooms of the house.

Tip# 4

Clean out junk from floor, chairs, bed, and closets. Donate, trade, or recycle as much as possible.

Remove yellowing, dying plants and flowers as well.

Throw out artificial or dried flowers, and faux plants. They release dying or dead energy into the air, and can cause an adverse effect on health and mood.

Tip# 5

Weed out duplicate or broken sports or exercise equipment. Keep those you want to save in good working order in a gym bag and/or on a garage shelf, or laundry room or mud room bin.

Set up a dedicated space for hobby paraphernalia, books and magazines, keys, wallets, hats, outerwear, and accessories.

Take out garbage and recycling daily, and keep indoor garbage containers out of sight.

Sort through stuff in closets, drawers, and other storage places. Give away or repair items that are broken.

If you never use, have outgrown, or hold on to things with bad memories associated with them, they may be the ones to discard first.

No matter how beautiful an item is, if it overcrowds the space you have, swap it out for a smaller version or eliminate it entirely.

Tip# 6

Live plants are an important part of Feng Shui decorating. Plants emit positive energy and cleanse the air.

Vegetation's green and other earthy colors remind us of health, renewal, and growth.

Bring the aura of the outdoors into your home and notice how living things including pets contribute to the positive flow of chi throughout your home.

Tip# 7

Study characteristics of the 5 Elements in Feng Shui which are FIRE, EARTH, METAL, WATER, and WOOD and their corresponding COLORS.

These elements help us combine, add, subtract, and align Feng Shui energies in our living space. Each element is represented by specific colors.

Use 5 Elements to Balance Home Chi

Fire: Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple and Pink. Fire represents high energy levels, passion, and transformation.

Earth: Light Yellow, Sandy Tones, Light Brown. Earth represents stability, nourishment, and support.

Metal: White and Gray. Metal represents mental strength, influences intelligence, focus, and clarity.

Water: Blue and Black. Water represents release and renewal, inspiration, relaxation, and flow.

Wood: Green and Brown. Wood represents expansion, creativity and new beginnings.

Use Crown Chakra Energy to Integrate Mind Body Spirit

OM Universal Sound of Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra's sound is Om

The seventh chakra, or Sahaswara, is the chakra of consciousness, pure awareness, and bliss. It is the source of Divine connection. Its vibrations provide powerful energy to sustain us and help us rise above earthly concerns.

Post updated 4/1/2024

Chakra means "wheels" in Sanskrit, and describes areas of energy running along our spine. Ancient Hindus formulated that the human body has seven major energy wheels, each a different color and spinning in a clockwise direction.

The crown chakra is located in our body's uppermost location, at the top of the head or slightly above it. When this center is open and balanced, it makes all the chakras work together for our greatest good.

Crown Chakra and Purple Color Energy at Colors 4 Healtht

The Crown Chakra and Om, the Sound of The Seventh Chakra

The colors most often associated with this chakra are dark purple/violet and white/clear.

Since ancient times, purple has been associated with the color of the clergy, nobles, and the rich. Those who are attracted to purple may have an artistic or dramatic flair. Some wear it, because they intuitively sense it clears confusion and calms hyperactivity.

Purple helps others feel energized. Dressing in this color can speed up natural healing energy for mind, body, and spirit.

Envision purple to encourage your thoughts to lift above ego to a higher plane, a higher consciousness.

Gaze at objects like lavender or other purple flowers, eat red grapes, red cabbage, or eggplant, or don an amethyst bracelet, necklace, or ring. Enjoy this vibrant color and let it remind you how interconnected you are to everything on our planet.

If the color white resonates with you, visualize white light surrounding you or a loved one. Imagine its energy cleansing, healing, protecting, and raising consciousness. See the planet, a pet, or an acquaintance being helped this way.

Drape a white cloth around you or surround yourself with white pillows or flowers, symbols of purity and devotion. Let white help motivate you to be of service to others.

Place a white crystal called selenite in your home or hold a selenite wand in front of your body for its many rejuvenating and mystical properties.

The crown chakra works in a subtle manner. Meditation or other mindfulness practices including color energy visualizations and affirmation recitation enhance this chakras effectiveness.

"I Tap into the Universal Source of Love Each Day."

"I Radiate Joy, and my Thoughts and Actions are Insightful and Loving."

"My Chakras are Aligned and Manifest Abundant Energy to Live Joyfully."

Healing arts including
acupuncture, tai chi, massage, and yoga can help stabilize all the chakras by purifying the lower energies and guiding the flow of energy upwards.

Self-care habits create harmony on the physical, mental, and spiritual level. Allow chakra work to be part of your self-awareness routine.

Remember the flow of "chi " through all our chakras influences health and improves wellbeing. The crown chakra’s job is to integrate all the chakras and their respective qualities.

The seventh chakra helps us deal with limited thinking and transports us beyond our idea of things to our wise inner core.

When we study the chakras and witness ourselves as we learn something new, we get closer to our true self, the Divine in us.

The crown chakra corresponds to the pituitary gland, the “master gland” of the endocrine system. Others believe the 7th chakra controls the pineal gland. This gland contains pigments similar to those found in the eyes, and regulates the action of light on our body. The seventh chakra helps us look inward to infuse spiritual light into our being.

I'd love to know if you believe in "chakra power." For me, getting in touch with my chakras makes me feel happy, peaceful, and alive.

Do you like to wear purple or white and how does that make you feel? Do you wear one or both of these colors often and for what reasons?
